Run - 5km
On completing the bike section, cyclists will dismount the bike at the mount/dismount timing
mat before entering transition. Helmets must remain on until the bike is racked.
Route
The run will be a 5km out and back run leaving from the National Aquatic Centre.
- Runners will leave the NAC and will cross the road immediately to the opposite footpath.
From there they will continue up the footpath to the Ballycoolin Road junction.
- At the junction the runner will turn left and proceed to the large roundabout
at the Blanchardstown Road.
- Turning left runners will continue down the footpath on Blanchardstown Road North to a cone
which will be placed at a point marking 2.5km. The turning point will be marshalled.
- Race numbers will be checked at the turnaround to ensure that the full course is completed
by all competitors.
- The runner turns and follows the same route back to the NAC.
Safety
In the interests of safety, all the running will be on the footpaths.
This means that the only time that the competitors are on the road would be
leaving and returning to the entrance of the NAC.
The footpath is quite narrow in places, but usually by the running section, competitors should be spaced
sufficiently to avoid any problems with oncoming runners.
Location of Numbers
Numbers should be pinned to the front and on the back.
